Stop Grinding. Start Building.
From friction to flow—how to tell the difference.
6/5/25 - Temps are ramping up down here—mid 90s right now—but I just can’t help but be outside. It’s late afternoon, and I still have some calls to do today, but I needed a break.
To sit in the sun.
Get a sweat going.
And just be present with my thoughts for a while.
Quick Business Updates
That LinkedIn opportunity I was exploring with Gobundance didn’t manifest (for now). And honestly? When the email came through this afternoon, I was a little relieved. If they’d accepted my offer, I would’ve crushed it. I’d have found the time, learned a ton, and given it everything I had. But this feels like confirmation that I’m on the right track with what I’m already doing. No more. No less.
Speaking of that path...
Jamie Gruber and I recently workshopped a new flow for our Emerge Brand Ambassador calls. The easiest way to explain these would be to call them “sales calls,” but that doesn’t come close. It’s part sales, part sacred gatekeeping, and part true connection.
I’m not here to fill seats—I’m here to protect the energy of this community. To make sure the right people get in. And to make sure the people on the other end of the call feel seen, heard, and valued—whether they join or not.
What’s working:
Address objections first thing. Get them out of the way and get real fast.
Ask better questions—and then shut up. Less from me, more from them.
Let people talk. Hear their story.
Keep your response relevant, clear, simple. Stay in flow.
So far? 4 for 7 since implementing this. And I believe the key is this: Simplicity. Connection. Confidence. Energy.
Sexual Transmutation and Sales? Oh Yeah.
There’s a chapter in Think & Grow Rich on sexual transmutation. And no—it’s not as weird as it sounds.
The concept is simple: no human emotion is as strong as sexual energy. And as young men, we all know that to be true. Think back: you’d go into full creative mode when you wanted a girl. Write poems. Change your outfit. Rearrange your whole life just for the chance to impress her.
I once quit football in high school just to hang out with my girlfriend more. That’s how strong the pull was. Also, one of my biggest regrets in life.
But now? I’ve got the girl. I’ve got the purpose. And I’ve learned to take that same fire—the same hunger—and aim it at growth, deals, impact, legacy. Not all of it (let’s not lie to ourselves, I’m still a man!), but enough of it to move mountains.
For me, closing a deal is the closest thing to that same high. The dance. The energy. The influence—ethical influence—to help someone say yes to something life-changing.
Community. Land. Leadership. Flow.
The Community Manager role for Emerge is going incredibly well. Every week, I’m sharpening my leadership by listening more, reflecting deeply, and choosing my words with intent. I’m focused on pulling people forward by setting the example—and knowing when to step back and let others lead.
Also—I’m leading my first ever men’s retreat this August in Sacramento. That invite came out of left field (thanks, Carrie), but hey… I’m here for surprises. Let’s go.
As for the land business—it’s still building. And I’m loving it. I’ve got the dream team: my brother Josh, my friend Greg, and our newest partner Brian. He’s 25, an Army Reservist, and fully committed.
We’re running EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System - a way to structure and simplify your business). We’re learning. We’re building. We might not close a deal this year—but when we do, we’re talking six- and seven-figure exits. Long term, this is going to be life changing.
And who knows—maybe we’ll end up building systems that help other land investors too. But one step at a time.
Reset > Challenge
I’m in the middle of a 90-day reset. Not a challenge—a reset. There’s a difference.
No THC.
No alcohol.
No processed food.
No video games.
No social media on the phone.
No artificial dopamine hits.
60 minutes outdoors every single day.
Clarity is the goal. And the results have been amazing. Since cutting social media 42 days ago, I’ve gained hours back. Hours to be present. To think. To lead. To get healthier. To live.
This isn’t a challenge, it’s a reset. Challenge sets the intent that this is going to be hard. Reset sets the intent that this is to honor myself. My body. My mind. My goals.
This Week’s Real Talk: The Grind
Let’s talk about that word: grind.
Every time I hear someone say they’re “in grind mode,” it feels like someone’s jabbing a dull pencil in my ear.
For some reason in our society we glorify it. We wear it like a badge of honor. But do we even know what it means?
Here’s the literal definition of the word grind:
To crush something into small particles or powder by force.
Here’s the figurative:
Persistent, repetitive effort—often exhausting—to achieve a goal.
Woof.
When someone says “I’m grinding,” I hear:
“I’m pushing through so much resistance, I’m slowly turning myself into dust.”
That’s not sustainable. And it’s not noble. And it probably means you aren’t showing up for yourself or the people you love most the way you want.
It means you’re not living in alignment because when you’re aligned, there isn’t much resistance.
This is something I hit on a few weeks ago but let’s revisit it for a bit - alignment doesn’t mean ease. But if you’re truly aligned—if your actions match your values and vision—it shouldn’t feel like grinding bone on concrete. It should feel like flow.
Flow might be slow—like thick sludge through a small pipe—but it’s still movement. It’s progress. Eventually the pipe clears. The sludge loosens. Or you pour some Draino down that thing and it’s game on. (Okay, enough sludge talk.)
Or better yet—think of it like laying bricks.
One at a time.
Some are crooked. Some get torn down and reset. But eventually, you step back and see the house forming. The vision coming to life.
You’re not smashing the bricks with a hammer expecting to build your dream home, that would be insane.
Grinding turns you into powder.
Building turns you into something real.
Your Challenge This Week: Step Away from the Dust
If you’re in “grind mode”… I’m calling you out.
Take a full day off.
Not half a day.
A full freaking day.
No work. No hustle. Just be.
Here’s what to do with it:
Journal.
Meditate.
Go outside.
Reflect on your values.
Reconnect with your vision.
Talk to your circle.
And don’t do anything with it right away. Don’t try to problem solve. Just sit in it. Because sitting with your thoughts and feelings, after you’ve taken action, that’s where the clarity is found.
When you’re ready—come back.
Brick by brick. In flow.

Kyle

Sunny Days: Tropidelic - Just another great feel good song and with all the sunshine down here in Texas lately, thought I’d spread a little positivity through music with ya.
